About the Event

COVID-19 has had a huge impact on the mental health therapist and has placed us at a higher risk for experiencing burnout.  Since the beginning of the pandemic, therapist have remained flexible and built resilience they didn't even know they had the capacity to build.  Through the tireless efforts to take care of our clients as well as ourselves, now is the time to begin self reflecting and provide replenishment to sustain well being. The purpose of this workshop is to serve as a virtual retreat for mental health counselors.  This is a safe space for counselors and therapist to discuss many facets of the mental health profession, offer insight and exchange and support ideas for self-care.

The focus of this course is to enlighten professionals about the serious impact that compassion fatigue and burnout has on an individual and your profession as a whole. In order to support the well being of our clients and consumers, professionals must be self aware of limitations and opportunities to grow. 

Course Objective-

  • Recognize the cost and impact of compassion fatigue
  • Identify and define strategies for prevention of compassion fatigue
  • Evaluate the role of Emotional Intelligence for preventing and recovering from compassion fatigue.
